During a life time in Rugby Union throughout North Midlands and the RFU I have worked with many outstanding people many of whom were supported by generous families. I do not know of any finer example than Rob Bray and Jan and their family. He was a great human being ,caring , honest, unselfish ,generous in every way , hard working and of the highest integrity. He was a great worker for the grass roots at large and latterly developed into one of the finest servants our great game has known . He served in many high offices and demonstrated calm leadership linked to authority when it was needed . He was fair but very forthright when it was required and brave and implacable when it was needed. Great in a crisis and when North Midlands lost a fine President in Nigel Banwell he filled the vacancy with the dignity it required . I had known him for a long time but really got close with him when we were Grandads in the Droitwich Junior set up .It was then that I witnessed his great commitment to grass roots and club rugby -a joy to behold. Rugby is a game for heroes and when they are as modest as Rob Bray I know why the Rugby Family is so special . A wonderful man the head of a lovely family.
